Summary: Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Nurse Extern I performs various direct patient care activities in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.

• Assists with the care of hospitalized patients.
• May be assigned additional functions based on hospital policies and protocols.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited RN nursing program pursuing either an associate or bachelor’s degree.
• Must have completed at least one clinical course and be in good standing.
• Proficient in basic nursing tasks; hospital experience preferred but not required.
• AHA BLS certification required within two weeks of employment.
